Every year, millions of people around the globe die as a result of air pollution. Increasingly poor air quality is becoming a pressing environmental issue, and not just in particularly heavily populated urban centers. Alongside structural changes, for example, in terms of traffic and energy supply, measures including efficient flue-gas scrubbing and air pollution control technologies are required to tackle the problem.
Air pollution control technologies form part of IFAT's exhibition repertoire. Typical applications include the separation of fluids, solids, and hazardous gases, flue-gas cleaning, and biological air extraction.
Increasingly strict legal requirements around the world have given a boost to the market and have helped increase the pace of innovation. One of the trends is the extraction of energy and secondary raw materials from exhaust air. This type of recycling could be a part of a sustainable circular economy in the future.
